Set of 4 plates made in the 1870s by Brown, Westhead, Moore & Co in Cauldon Place, Hanley England which operated from 1862 to 1904 and then became Cauldon Inc. These plates are a combination of ironstone and porcelain, they do have some knife marks, one has a tiny chip showing the ironstone underneath. They are decorated in cobalt blue and fine liquid gold. Some of the gilding has worn off around the edges but these plates are very beautiful, unusual and fit in today as they did 140 years ago. They are 10.5" in diameter. Free US Shipping!
