Here are a pair of really cool Japanese sandals from the 40s. These are usually worn by young women or geisha in training. They are made out of lightweight wood called Paulownia. These were laquered on the bottom and one has an original seal from where it was made. Each has a metal round piece on the bottom which created sound when walking. The front flip flop style material is leather and velvet in black, brown and red. They are connected to the bottom by rope.
The top piece is 8.5 x 4 x .5" and the stilts are 4 x 1 x .25. The edges are worn which is to be expected but they are still in great condition. Free shipping in the US.
