This is the full version of the poem "Now I Lay Me" that was found in the napsack of a deceased soldier during the Civil War. It came out of a magazine as there is a page number on the bottom. There is another interesting thing about this and that is what is glued on the back side. It is a photo of a soldier and titled "Two Sons of Their Father", it starts "Rear Admiral Evans and Captain Richard Wainwright are represented by two promising young Officers. It is sometimes a handicap, but always an inspiration to hear the name of a man who has done splendid deeds." The rest is faded but readable. The photo is that of Wainwright. Handwritten underneath is FeerJark 1908 The Scrapbook Magazine.
It is 11 x 8", professionally framed with a modern hanger on the back.
