Say hello to "Jennie Set the Table", a 1940's doll by Nancy Ann and one of the Storybook Dolls. She is 5" tall and adorable.
Nancy Ann was actual Rowena Haskin, an actress and dress designer who was born in 1901. She opened her doll business in 1936. The doll part was made in Japan and out of bisque. (She later made plastic dolls). She was the largest producer of dolls in the US in the 40's. After Nancy passed away in 1964, the company filed for bancrupcy.
Jennie has red hair and is in very good vintage condition. A bit of the glue on her head is showing due some hair loss and on her left side the finish has chipped. The hair would normally cover that part of her cheek and could be glued back on and you wouldn't be able to see it.
She is wearing pantaloons in cream muslin, her clothes are in good shape but wrinkled. The lace on the apron needs to be cleaned as does the lace on her headband. Her shoes are painted on and in perfect condition.
