This piece of transferware looks old, but is actually from the 70's and the company that made it, closed in 2000 after making ceramics since 1851. This was made from original copper engravings depicting "historical scenes of Chinese export to America" and is called "The Friendship of Salem". It is dishwasher and detergent save. Can be used for food or to hang on the wall. Has pictures depicting New York Harbor in 1830, Canton Port 1830, the US Delaware capturing Le Croyable and our eagle motif.
It is 10.5" in diameter, has no crazing, no cracks and a tiny chip on the back which is shown in the photo's. Made in England.
