This is such a lovely little set in dark turquoise. It was made around the 50s, it has little gold squigglies around the outside edge, then a row of gold leaves then a solid stripe. The design is on the inside of the cup with just a stripe of gold on the outside of it. It is numbered 1881.
It was made by Aynsley which was founded in 1775 in Staffordshire. In 1997, it was acquired by Beleek of Ireland and they no longer make it in Staffordshire.
The saucer is 4.5" in diameter and the cup 3.75" diam at the top. It has tiny scallops around the edge of the cup,
It is a really, really nice piece and an unusual one at that.
