Antique Tong Style Double Barrelled Curling Tongs

$20.00

Shipping to United States: $6.50

This is a pair of curling tongs, or double curling iron used to make those beautiful crimp waves in the 1920s. These were heated in the fire or on the stove. This pair has tiny barrels that are 4" long that fit into the round crimps that are 3.5" long. They are 9.5" in total length. There is no makers name on them, these were often made by the town blacksmith for the wealthier women.

Please do not really use these. You can easily burn your hair or yourself and there is no need to do that with the modern curling irons. These were difficult to use and resulted in burnt skin and burnt hair often. They would look great in the bathroom with a collection of different types or even in a shadow box- just to remind you how hard it was to look the movie star back in the day!

How much is a custom mermaid?

It depends on the size and the work involved. Custom mermaids start at $50.

I saw an item like this on EBay for less. Can you match the price?

No.

Can you hold an item until I get paid?

No. I have done this before, taken the item out of inventory and then the person never bought. This causes me to have to pay to re-list the item and miss out on other potential sales. Please do not ask me to do this.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I do!
