This is an eighth printing and is a large novel about the Civil War and the POW camp in what was Fort Sumpter Georgia. It was a 16 acre compound, with no wood structures made to hold 10,000 men. It actually wound up holding 45,000 men and 13,000 died there, from dysentary, cholera and starvation.
It is a novel, based on facts. It is 9.5 x 6.25 x 2 and has 767 pages. The pages are deckled. It has a blue/gray hardcover which is somewhat faded. Other than that, the book is in good condition, the pages are only slightly yellowed and none are writtten on or torn. The deckled edges are slightly dirty, but the pages are nice and clean.
