This is a lovely little powder jar, that often times went with a hair receiver. Ladies would put their powder and puffs in them.
This one has a hand-painted porcelain china top, marked Japan. So it is probably from the 30's since it doesn't say "made in Japan". It's ribbed depression glass jar is kind of an art deco style and there are no makers marks on the glass. The top is 3.75" in diameter and the paint has worn down some as has some of the gilding on the outside edge. The glass jar is 2.25" tall and 4" in diameter at its widest part. There are no nicks, cracks or chips. It has 4 little feet that stick out on the bottom.
